what can help to cure/prevent patella tendonitis?

i have patella tendonitis, but its only very mild. i have had about a week with no activity however i play basketball very often. it seems to be getting better and i have been icing it frequently and using voltaren gel as reccomended by my doctor. is there anything else that can help heal it and/or prevent it? are there any excercises?

I was diagnosed with TMJ a few weeks ago. My oral surgeon has prescribed me Lodine (Which didn't work) so he gave me VOLTAREN (Which barely takes th edge off). So I went to Duke urgent care yesterday (Who by the way were EXTREMELY rude and thought I was there Seeking pain pills to abuse). Anyways, they prescribed me VICODIN and Im taking 2, 500mg pills every 6 hours and that is barely taking the edge off. Im in a lot of pain. Is there anything I can do at home or something I can apply to my face that may help ease this annoying pain? PS Im waiting on my MRI to be ordered so I can have surgery, but I need something to manage the pain in between then.

I had breast cancer last year and finished chemo in October. In December I started getting a lower back ache. Had a bone scan in January which was clear. The back ache keeps getting worse. Voltaren and pilates exercise has not helped. It could just be side effects of Tamoxifen or Zoladex but I am anxious about bone mets. Is it too soon for another bone scan? Are there guidelines as to how often you can have one? Are they dangerous? How accurate are bone scans? Would it be better to ask for an MRI? Thanks

Even though cataflam has a lower mg than celebrex someone told me that cataflam is better for pain. Which should I take for really bad pain???

ok well about a week ago i got this horrible and i do mean BAD toothache.. so i call the dentist.. they cant see me until 4-9 so i tried bearing thru and the pain was soooo bad and went to the er.. they gave me and antibotic ultram and cataflam.. i took the meds for a day or so and that cataflam really helped much more than the ultram,, but then i ran out so i decided to go back to taking the ultram well on friday i had such a busy day and didnt eat not to metion that my tooth hurt too bad to eat any how... and then i took 2 ultram and the anibotic.. then i got soooooo sick so sick i tjhough iwas oding!! like i was ready to call 911! i finally just laid down with a fan on me on huigh and rested for like 12 hours and felt better.. bnut then i woke the next daty with this horrible nasal congestion and now today.. i have this weird pain between my boobs when i turn or something like move fast... could it be the begininng of a heart attack?? i ma only 28!! see my husband (which i MAY agree with) thinks maybe i pulled something from throwing up so hard which makes sense.. cause its more of that kind of pain.. ne one ever get somethuing like that?

i had bit my left hand middle fingted taking ure nail during which a bit of the skin was peeled off and the same fingure was used in sexual intercourse with my wife . after a few days i found pus/whitish discolouration which was followed with swelling in the area with pain. i started taking antibiotics - amoxil 500mg and cataflam 50mg. please advice

diclofenac sodium

i've taken voltaren sr 100mg, 3 times a day and before, it reacts fast to ease off the pain and the swelling. but right now i've taken voltaren sr for almost 4 days and the pain and swelling is still there, with a little improvement on the pain.

Someone recommended I carry Dielofenac in my first aid kit while I am hiking in the wilderness. It, apparently, is a much better pain killer than Asprin. It would be for emergency use only. Do I need a prescription for this?

I went to the Orthopedic Dr. for ankle and foot pain. Ive had this pain for about 6 months and it was caused by something falling onto my foot. Since I did not have insurance nobody was willing to take a look at it. So I just dealt with it. I got a splint from walgreens and used it as needed. Well now the pain is so bad no matter what Iam doing( even kicking the blanket off at night causes a horrible pain.) Seeing how ive been hurting for so long I do not really limp from it anymore. although I do get pain. Well the Dr I went to was a complete A**. He said since Im not limping, that im not in pain meaning nothing is really wrong with me. He did xrays just to check and it showed no broken bones. He said he thinks its tendinitis and gave me Voltaren Xr 100mg and told me to take it every day for a month and sent me on my way. and also to make sure i wear shoes ALL the time except when i shower. Sorry but im not sleeping in shoes!!Do you think this is the right treatment and should give it a try or should i seek a 2nd opinion Thank you

he said it feels hot, was burning since earlier today he saw doctor who said he didnt think it was Phlebitis or thrombosis, just sore varicose veins and to take Diclofenac. he dosent know whether to take this or whether 2x paractemol would do as the pains gone off is achy but not severe pain is voltarol (diclofenac) not a really strong painkiller? im sure my mum took it when she had sciatica. would paractemol be ok to use? help please?
